4th of July

It is odd that we have celebrated a year of holidays with Jake... and there won't be anymore "first" holidays for him (not counting his first birthday... since he was there last year on July 22!!).
The 4th of July was a blast! We started celebrating on Thursday and continued through to Sunday!

We started out with Ryan's family... the cousins were in a parade of their own as we made our way down to the carnival. We decorated the wagon (and of course had a mini photo shoot!) - but the rain made the stroller a better choice for parading!

Then we loaded in the car and drove down to Tacoma. Our first stop was my sister's house. Anne and Eric hosted a 4th of July party - one that we won't soon forget! Hayden greeted us wearing the most wonderful shirt!! It read "I am a BIG BROTHER!" We could not be more excited for their family!! Our new little niece or nephew is due January 30, 2009!

The rest of the weekend was spent with my Grandma June. What a treat to be able to spend so much time with her. Jacob adored her - and she surprised him with a bubble maker that was quite a hit! Jake excitedly waved his arms (and feet) and squealed "bu-bu" over and over while watching dumbo make bubbles galore.
