We had a blast celebrating Jacob's first birthday! On his actual day we got together with some friends kiddos from our small group and played at the beach (Jake's friends were troopers as it was a pretty cold day here!). That night we had yummy macaroni and cheese for dinner - and cupcakes for dessert! Jacob loves the "Happy Birthday" song and grins ear to ear when we sing it to him (I've actually still been singing it this week!). After dinner we had presents galore... turns out that wasn't really necessary as we could barely get him to focus on opening another present after he unwrapped the first one - a "vroom vroom" (what Jake calls anything with wheels - and in this case it was a race car). The following morning I showed Jacob how to stand at his new wagon and walk with it... as you can see he's not sure (he had a much better time pushing it around while crawling).

On Saturday we had our whole family over for a Sock Monkey Birthday Party! The party was so fun.. and Jacob did awesome (especially considering he woke up with a cold on Saturday morning!).
