Construction Party!

Jacob's second birthday party planning started months ago... After attending a couple of friends birthday parties in a row, I asked Jacob what type of birthday party he might want when he turned two. Without hesitation, he replied, "Diggers!" I asked if we should do a digger party or a construction party? His little eyes lit up as he exclaimed, "Construction Party!" Those two words have been uttered (literally) hundreds of times in our home as we prepared for Jake's second birthday. Whenever anyone would ask Jake about his upcoming birthday, he replied "Construction Party!" He helped me pick out the invitations online... and when we were at the party store shopping for the napkins, paper plates, cups, etc, Jacob kept grabbing things (in the construction motif) saying... "need this, ummm... need this" He loved helping get ready for his party! One day on a walk we sat and watched a digger digging a hole and dumping the dirt into a dump truck for quite some time. I pointed out that the men were all wearing hard hats and suggested we get some of those for his party. Jacob noticed that their hats were covered in stickers, and so we decided to buy some stickers to decorate our hats with too! He loves to remember his party and talk about it again and again. Jacob was giddy when everyone arrived!it was a hot day... so water activities were a must!no time to go inside for a drink of water!Hudson and Clara hanging out indoors!a sweet cousin hug...Jacob had hugs for everyone!with his two amazing Grandmas!
